CBA Capital Partners Limited

CBA Capital Partners Limited’s (CBA) principal activity is as a transaction led arranger of capital for corporates. It focuses closely on client needs and aims to unlock value through addressing key issues constraining rapid growth. Examples of key issues include:

1) Cross border expansion including acquisitions, particularly focusing on
Africa/Asia synergies.

2) International structuring to assist rapid global and regional Rollouts.

3) International funding customised for each transaction normally utilising a
combination of debt, mezzanine and equity instruments.



Principal Team Members:

Jag S Johal (Chief Executive)

Founded CBA in July 2005 after completing over 11 years with CDC Group PLC, 9 of which were spent managing Comafin (over 6 as CEO), investing, maturing and divesting 19 investments in 7 sub-Saharan countries including South Africa.
Prior to that transacting project finance deals in the South-East Asian, South Asian, African and Latin American markets, following 12 years in business & financial advisory.

Jag completed an Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School , has an MBA in finance from Cass Business School, City University, London and a BSc in Engineering (Hons) from Queen Mary College, London University.

Henry Hollingdrake (Partner)

Joined CBA in January 2008 after 10 years in Investment Banking, specialising in local (South Africa) cross border transactions across a wide variety of industries, including Telecommunications, Infrastructure Development, Mining, Retail, Property and Financial Services. He has vast experience in the management of business roll outs into the African Continent and other emerging markets, pioneering private equity type transactions into Africa for South African institutions as well as institutions from other emerging markets.

Henry holds a Masters in Commerce from Wits University, Advanced Diploma in Banking from Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) as well as a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from RAU.

In addition CBA has an Associate Partner in London specialising in the Telecommunications, Technology and Finance as well as an Associate Partner in South Africa specialising in Financial Services and Information Technology.
